Signia Hearing Aids | Formerly Siemens
We offer Signia hearing aids (formerly Siemens) at our Manhattan audiology clinic. Sivantos Group is the parent company of Signia, as well as Siemens, Rexton, and A&M. With over 100 years of experience designing hearing instruments, Sivantos has launched a new venture with the introduction of Signia.
Signia, co-branded with the successful Siemens, is defined by life-changing innovations, with forward thinking and customer-centered and quality-driven values. Sivantos Groups says, “With Signia, we want to create a brand that is more human and personal, while building on the Siemens values of technological innovation and quality. For the years to come, this dual branding will allow us to leverage the best of both brands, appealing to a broader demographic, which will be the basis of our future growth.”
Primax | Binax Platform and New Technology
The Primax embodies the success and innovation of the Siemens binax, while taking it to a new level of innovation. The binax platform was the first hearing aid to outperform normal hearing in challenging noise situations. The Primax provides wearers with better than normal hearing in challenging listening environments as well as clinically-proven reduced listening effort throughout the day.
SpeechMaster | Improved Speech Recognition
For people who experience hearing loss, one major complaint is that they can hear, but not understand. Speech recognition in certain environments, such as busy restaurants or public transportation hubs, are a challenge for people who are hard of hearing.
The Primax offers SpeechMaster, a feature that eliminates these difficulties. With SpeechMaster, the listener is empowered to focus on the sounds they want to hear. At the same time, SpeechMaster eliminates background noise.
SpeechMaster is achieved by balancing three technologies: noise reduction, directionality, and steering amplification to focus on the dominant sounds the wearer wants to hear. Improved speech recognition reduces the listening effort, as Primax wearers do not have to strain to make sense of speech patterns and conversations with multiple speakers.
With some hearing aids, loud and sharp sounds may cause discomfort for wearers, especially when sounds are amplified. Primax offers a feature to give wearers comfort: EchoShield. EchoShield balances sounds in acoustically challenging environments. It protects sounds wearers want to focus on, while it eliminates reverberations in difficult acoustic spaces, such as atriums, hallways, lecture halls, and places of worship. Coupled with the SoundSmoothing feature, EchoShield helps to reduce listening effort in a number of different spaces. With EchoShield, Primax hearing aids provide comfort to wearers by eliminating the experience of degraded sound that wearers may experience in difficult spaces.
HD Music | Music Lovers
Most traditional hearing aids have dedicated their processing platforms to improving speech recognition, but they have left certain other sounds we love to hear by the side. This is where HD Music comes in!
Primax is equipped with HD Music, a tri-functional feature to accommodate the clear listening of music. For music lovers, there are three settings to enhance higher frequencies of music. This provides Primax wearers with a richer musical experience, no matter the listening situation.
For Primax wearers, the three features for music listening are: “Live Music,” for any concert, indoor or out; “Recorded Music” for listening in the home; and a specialized “Musician” setting for music lovers who also play music.
Did you know that each year, an estimated 1.4 billion disposable hearing aid batteries make their way to landfills?
Some hearing aids, which contain mercury among other dangerous elements, could seep into the ground and harm the environment. To address this issue, and in response to a call from hearing aid wearers for rechargeable solutions, Signia offers the new Cellion primax.
Built on the sophisticated primax platform, Cellion utilizes lithium-ion inductive charging, which means that it begins charging as soon as it is placed in the charger. This automatic recharging solution is convenient and ideal for people who do not want to deal with the insecurity of traditional hearing aid batteries. Cellion’s OneShell design is simple to handle, with color-coding for right and left ears. LED lights indicate the power and charging status of the hearing aids.
An estimated 1.4 billion disposable hearing aid batteries make their way to landfills each year.
Cellion provides 24 hours of listening on a single charge, which gives wearers a true sense of confidence and seamlessness in their listening experience. Cellion’s charging station includes a dehumidifying function, which ensures the hearing aid is dry after a day of use and contributes to a longer life for the device. For people on the go, Signia offers two powering options – a micro USB and a smaller travel power pack. The lithium-ion battery cell lasts up to five years, which is approximately the life of your hearing aids. With Cellion, you may not have to change the battery once during use.
Aside from its groundbreaking rechargeable energy solution, Cellion primax offers a number of great features for comfortable and natural listening. With directional microphones, Cellion improves speech understanding, especially in noise, by focusing on the speakers you want to hear. Cellion’s OneShell design offers one main Push Button, which makes manual adjustments to your listening experience incredibly convenient.
Cellion provides 24 hours of listening on a single charge.
Through wirelessly connectivity, Cellion streams phone calls, music, and other media directly from your smartphone or tablets directly to your ears. This is achieved through the easyTek app. Connection to the easyTek app also ensures that your adjustments to your listening experience are simple to make. To adjust your preferences in program features and volume levels, Cellion can be controlled with the touchControl app and miniPocket remote control. People with active lifestyles will appreciate Cellion’s IP68 rating, which ensures that it is resistant to moisture, sweat, dust, and dirt. Cellion is equipped with Signia’s notch therapy to provide relief for tinnitus symptoms.
Cellion primax is available as a mini receiver-in-canal hearing aid, with four power levels (S, M, P, and HP) to treat varying degrees of hearing loss.
If you’re a veteran hearing aid wearer, then you are familiar with the experience of being fitted for hearing aids. Hearing aids are selected to treat your configuration and degree of hearing loss, then customized to fit your ear. Usually there is a wait period until your customized hearing aids are available for you to wearer. Signia’s new Silk primax eliminates this wait period entirely with a new technology called Click Sleeves.
Silk is a ready-to-wear, completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aid that is virtually invisible in the ear. These tiny but powerful hearing aids utilize silicon sleeves (available in three sizes) that “click” into place on the CIC primax aids, and are inserted into your ear. Click Sleeves are designed with vents to ensure ventilation in your ear canal for a comfortable wearing and listening experience. Silk is ideal for long-term users of hearing aids as well as new wearers, who will appreciate the immediate benefit to their listening experience.
Built on the primax platform, Silk hearing aids are clinically proven to reduce listening effort. With binaural OneMic technology, Silk ensures that you hear all the sounds in your environment, with excellent speech recognition and a reduction of background noise in your environment. Silk primax transmits processed audio signals between the hearing aids to provide a truly binaural listening experience. Additionally, Silk primax is equipped with wireless connectivity, which allows you to stream audio from your smartphone directly to your ears.
Silk is also equipped with tinnitus therapy, with the option to use therapy signals only or mixed mode (mixed with audio data from your environment). Signia’s notch therapy provides five static noises and four ocean wave sounds for maximum comfort.
